Sawnwood production in Poland decreased by 6% in March

Sawmills’ sawn-softwood output in Poland in March 2022 was 6% lower than a year before at 275,000 m³.

The Polish statistics office in Warsaw informed, that production was stable in February (237,000 m³) after a decrease of 5% had been spotted in January (221,000 m³). 

Accumulated over the first three months, the output was 3% less than at the same time of 2021 at 733,000 m³. The reduction confirmed the inconsistent development of the last few years. In the 1st quarter of 2019, the output had gained the highest level ever registered at 758,000 m³. After a decline in the first quarter of 2020 (-8% to 696,000 m³), a rise of 9% was recorded the following year at 756,000 m³. At 3.310m m³ (2020: 2.821m m³), the output in 2021 as a whole was 6% higher than in 2020.
