Poland is taken to Court for logging

The EU Commission is bringing legal action against Poland in the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) because of the timber harvesting activities in the Bialowieza National Park. The Commission will also be asking the Court to stop logging immediately with the help of a writ of injunction.

The Commission reported this on July, 13 after Poland had been numerous times threatened with the legal action. On April, 27 the EU Commission had urged Poland to stop logging within a month. At that time the EU Commission had limited the term from two weeks to one on the grounds of the ongoing logging.
