Lumber production in Canada increased by 5.2% in the beginning of 2017

Canadian lumber production increased by 19.5% in January, with sawmills producing 5 813.4 thousand mᶾ of lumber. Statistics Canada reported that production was 5.2% higher than in the same period of 2016.

In January, enterprises shipped 5 452.0 thousand mᶾ of lumber, which is 10.1% higher than in December 2016. Shipments increased by 2.8% in comparison with January 2016.
