Extension of log export regulation in Belarus

In the end of January the Council of Ministers of the Belarusian government made a decision to extend the regulations for exporting Belarusian logs to countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union, which expired on 31 December.

In accordance with Decree no. 59, permits for exporting logs (customs tariff: 4403) and rotary-peeled masts (customs tariff: 4404) must be applied for at the Forest ministry.

On 1 February the Decree came into force and applies until 31 July 2018. Due to the growth of production capacity in the Belarusian timber industry, increasing demand for raw materials can be expected in future. Apart from Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Kirgizia and Kazakhstan are members of the Eurasian Economic Union, founded in 2014.
