Canadian lumber production keeps dropping

According to Statistics data, Canadian lumber production witnessed a 1.6% fall from April, amounting to 4,008.9 thousand m3 in May. This decrease is even heavier in comparison with the figures from May 2022, marking a significant 13.8% decline year-on-year.

Sawmills in Canada managed to ship 4,158.2 thousand m3 of lumber in May 2023. Although this shows a 5.7% rise from April, it decreases comparing to the figures from May 2022, representing a decline of 9.8%.
