Planed lumber exports from Estonia increased by 6%
Exports of rough-sawn and planed softwood lumber from Estonia in the first quarter were just a bit higher of the previous year’s figure of 144,905 m³.
The development of boosting exports spotted in the 2nd half of 2020 was therefore reversed again. As Eurostat informed, supplies to non-EU countries dropped by 6% to 57,603 m³ and by 2% to a proportion of 40% of total exports. This recession was only partly compensated by a 3% growth up to 87,302 m³ in exports to other EU states. Classified according to processing, planed lumber exports increased by 6% to 84,220 m³. Exports of rough-sawn lumber, on the contrary, fell by 9% to 60,685 m³.
