European countries have increased exports of lumber to Japan in January-July 2016

According to Woodstat, softwood lumber exports from European countries to Japan rose by 21% in the first half of 2016, reaching 1.636 million mᶾ.

North American countries have reduced the volume of its supply by 6% to 1,221 million m3 (1,086 million m3 – from Canada). In such a way the amount of European exports in the first half of 2016 exceeded the North American by 34%. European suppliers have taken 47% of market share, North American – only 37%.
