Estonia: Logging increases by 10% in 2016

A total volume of 13.819m m³ roundwood was logged in Estonia in 2016; this shows a 10% increase in comparison with the previous year. In accordance with the information from the Estonian statistics authority, the logging volume in private forests increased on average by 12% to 9.204m m³.

In the state forests owned by Estonian State Forest Management Centre RMK, logging grew up by 6% in comparison with the previous year to 4.527m m³. 3.780m m³ of this volume was used as sawlogs, veneer logs and industrial roundwood, which represents a 7% increase. Furthermore, 571,603m³ of firewood was also produced.
